We are so sad to see these 2 returned to us. Some of our long-term supporters will remember those gorgeous photos of McManus with his Bagpuss cuddly toy and the progress we made with his by winning him over with treats. Well, he is back, along with Margot that was.
We thought they had their forever home. Margot (Ivy) had been with us a long time and lived happily with McManus in a communal pen, so she seemed the perfect companion for him. Their owners are moving abroad at the end of February and can’t take them with them. We hoped to get them re-homed or a foster home before they had to come back to us, but we had to take them in at the start of the new year. Ivy has coped well enough after her first few days. McManus does not know what has happened and is so sad. He has a sad face at the best of times, but he is not impressed at seeing Pawz for Thought again.
They seem happy enough together and they did share a bed in their home, so at the minute, we aim to keep them together. We will monitor the situation and see what happens over the next weeks. He will need a very understanding owner that will allow him to be a shy cat. He does love a tickled chin and once you start, he doesn’t want you to stop, but it will take time to learn to trust again. He does not have a bad bone in his body. She is a lovely girl who is around 3 years old now. She has been used to snuggling up and cuddling in and has become very loving and gentle. We really do not want these 2 to be stuck in the shelter for as long as they were. These are the very sad, heart-breaking ones that we have to deal with.
