Fearne

Fearne is a breathtaking tabby girl with the face of a woodland princess… and the social skills of someone who has just spotted a stranger at the end of the supermarket aisle and immediately ducked behind the cereal boxes.

She came to us with a tiny hairline fracture in her spine — now fully healed — but her trust in humans did not bounce back quite as quickly. Her current strategy when we enter her pen is: Operation Igloo Dive. She vanishes into her little hideaway like a furry submarine performing an emergency descent.

But here’s the twist: while humans get the “nope, goodbye” treatment, other cats get the VIP welcome. If one of her feline neighbours strolls past, Fearne is suddenly at the front of her pen like, “Oh hiiii bestie!” complete with adorable rolling, tail swishing, and general flirtatious enthusiasm. She is especially smitten with little Greta, who seems to be her chosen emotional support cat.

Fearne’s perfect home is a calm, adult‑only indoor kingdom with plenty of space for strategic retreats, quiet observation, and slow‑burn trust building. She needs an experienced cat person — someone who has graduated from the University of Timid Cats with honours in Patience and Understanding. She will take months to come around, and she will strike if cornered, so she needs someone who respects personal space like it’s a sacred law.

But the non‑negotiable? Another cat. Not just any cat — a cat‑friendly, people‑friendly, “I love everyone” type who can show Fearne that humans are not, in fact, terrifying goblins. Without a confident feline mentor, Fearne simply won’t blossom.

Give her a lot of time, kindness, and a gentle feline friend, and this shy little tabby may one day peek out of her igloo and decide the world isn’t so scary after all.
