Gable

Gable carries a story of survival tucked behind those bright eyes of his. If he could talk, he’d probably start with, “You won’t believe what I’ve been through… but I’m still here, and I’m still fabulous.”

This gorgeous tuxedo boy was found by police after his owner passed away, having stayed loyally by their side for far, far too long. It’s nothing short of incredible that he managed to survive. When he arrived, he was heartbreakingly thin—malnourished, starving, and still trying his best to hold on.

But Gable is made of strong stuff. With hospital care, a specialist diet, and a whole lot of determination, he’s worked his way back to eating normally. He’s still a little underweight, but he’s putting the effort in—one enthusiastic meal at a time.

Despite everything, Gable still carries the signs of a cat who was once deeply loved. His coat is glossy, his manners are lovely, and he greets people with the warmth of someone who remembers what a good home feels like. He’s friendly, affectionate, and wonderfully people‑oriented.

Other cats, however? Absolutely not. Since a few big toms moved into the pens near him, Gable has been giving them the full “excuse me, this is my space” treatment. He’s an older boy with opinions, and one of those opinions is: no feline roommates, thank you very much.

What he does love is toys—especially catnip ones. Give him a catnip mouse and he’ll roll around like a kitten who’s just discovered joy for the first time.

More than anything, Gable needs a safe, quiet home where he never has to wonder where his next meal is coming from. A place where he can stretch out, feel secure, and finally let the past fade into something distant and done.

Gable is one of those cats whose life could be a film—equal parts heartbreak, grit, and quiet triumph. This handsome tuxedo gentleman has lived through something no animal ever should, and yet he’s come out the other side with a softness that makes you want to scoop him up and promise him the world.
