This year's rabbit awareness week is all focussed on the need for good quality, fresh hay as the main part of your rabbit's diet.

Running from 17th June until 25th June, RAW is trying to promote a healthy diet. Did you know that 85%-90% of your rabbit's diet should be made up entirely of good quality fresh green hay. It is vital for your rabbit's digestive system and can be a great stimulus for allowing them to use their natural foraging instincts. If your hay is cut into short pieces and dry and brown it probably isn't fresh and long stemmed, green soft and sweet smelling hay is what rabbits should be getting daily constant access to. Grass can also be part of this, it is great for them and allows their teeth to wear down and stay healthy. There may be RAW events happening near you so follow the link below to find out more.
