Smudgy Smoo is a very special little girl with very special needs.
Smudge is a very friendly, soft natured girl who loves cuddles and attention. She is a beautiful cat and would have been homed instantly if she didn't have urinary and fecal incontinence. We use vet bed for her on top of puppy pads because it's usually when she sleeps that she urinates. The vet bed keeps her dry, is easy to wash and the puppy pads are a simple clean-up. Luckily she has healthy poops which are easy to pick up. If someone had experience of expressing bladders and bowels that would be even better. We've never tried her with a nappy, because the vet bed and puppy pads work well for us, but it could be another solution if she was in a home where it could be changed regularly.
She arrived at Pawz after suffering some form of accident or trauma. We will never know what happened to her. She was extremely ill, her tail needed to be amputated and she took a long time to recover. She wasn't spayed or microchipped and we couldn't find an original owner. After a lot of treatment and worry she recovered, apart from not being able to control her bladder or bowels. We spent a lot of time on her rehabilitation but she isn't going to gain control again.
Smudge is a sweetheart and is loved by everyone at Pawz but she deserves her own home. She is very playful and runs, plays and chases toys. She has the potential to live with another cat. Smudge will never be besties with another cat but she does tolerate them now. She is happy to be out of her pen at the same time as the other cats as long as they give her space. She is a gorgeous girl and deserves to be loved. See our girl on the Pawz for Thought YouTube channel via this link Smudge
