We arrived at the Dog Walk super early in the morning and found the field in disarray.
Other stall holders were desperately hanging on to their tents as they tried to get them stay up but the tents and gazebos just folded and bent in the incredibly gusty winds. We thought it may be best to abandon all attempts to stay the course as we could not see how anything was going to stay on the tables and not end up in the north sea. However, deciding not to risk our tent as we need it for other events that are hopefully not going to be as windy as this one, we set the tables up in the field as did 80 percent of the people there. Jan, our volunteer with a heart of gold and a gritty determination, stayed all day and turned the day around for us by managing to sell a good percentage of what we'd taken to the fantastic people who tried their luck on our tombolas.
